Blazin' Fiddles
The first time Blazin' Fiddles played Cambridge, their Scottish hospitality got a little out of hand in their backstage caravan changing rooms. This lead to the appearance of an "I Love Caravans" t-shirt on their triumphal return visit.
Hopefully there'll be no caravan related incidents on their third visit, just the scintillating fiddle that this ensemble have built their reputations on. Whilst there have been a proliferation of fiddle collectives, Blazin' Fiddles have always been considered champion league. Any group would be proud to have any of Catriona MacDonald, Aidan O'Rourke, Allan Henderson, Bruce McGregor and Iain MacFarlane in their number, having all five in one combo almost beggars belief.
Blazin' Fiddles have played in venues of all sizes. There isn't a stage or audience that they can't adapt to. There's a reason why the Devil goes to Georgia to challenge fiddle players, it's because he knows he'll get slaughtered in Scotland. There's a reason they're called Blazin' Fiddles, standby for fireworks.
